The Teachers Leaders Program, was founded in 2011 by the American Federation of Teachers. The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and Volusia United Educators (VUE) identifies and brings together a group of educators and empowers them to undertaking leadership roles in their schools and communities. Their goal is to provide research-based data on educational policies, best practices for student learning, student engagement, and academic achievement, as well as changes and implications within the rules, policies, and procedures that governs public school funding, teacher accountability, attrition, student voice, and the pipeline to prison paradigm (K-12th grade). Their action research will be presented on May 18, 2019 at the VUE office in Daytona Beach, Florida. All stakeholders are welcome to join us. The 2018-2019 members are (from left to right): Gwendolyn Coy, Charna Fagan, Paulette McKibbins-Shed, facilitator, Darlene Gravenmier, Monica Sedore, Tamela Thompson, and Dr. Teresa Ward. |
